SPRING 2021 REGISTRATION IS CLOSED! THERE MAY BE A FEW SPOTS LEFT IN SOME DIVISIONS. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, CONTACT US AT INFO@LCYO.ORG TO CHECK, BUT PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AN LCYO ACCOUNT PRIOR TO CONTACTING. LATE FEES WILL BE APPLIED FOR REGISTRATION!
Hello LCYO Families:
We hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and Winter Break! For those of you that participated in our Fall Season we hope that your season was a fun one and your kids enjoyed themselves!!
The current situation regarding COVID-19 is very fluid, and we appreciate everyone's patience as we navigate it the best we can. Our focus is to get our players on the ball field having fun with their health and safety being the highest priority.
LCYO will be fielding all divisions in Baseball: Shetland (ages 5-6) through Pony (ages 13-14) and Softball: Pee Wee (ages 5-6) through 14U (ages 13-14) for the upcoming Spring season.
We plan to have practices and scrimmages within the team for now. However, if state restrictions are lifted regarding youth sports at some point in the spring, we will play games versus other teams through April 29th (for divisions that require umpires, there will be a small fee per game collected within the teams to pay the umpires).
Spring 2021 Registration Fees
Due to the uncertainty of how COVID-19 will affect our season, 2021 fees are reduced compared to 2020. However, with the costs of uniforms, fields, and insurance for our league, we will not be able to offer refunds in the event State restrictions are increased.
The Executive Board and Division Directors will be monitoring county COVID guidelines throughout the season. Again, we will place the teams based on friend/coach requests the best we can, and have a full season of training, inner team/POD 6v6 scrimmage style practices. We will monitor state guidance regarding COVID and hopefully have real games at some point in the season.
Baseball and Softball Fall 2020 Practice Season
You’re probably wondering what’s happening with Fall Ball 2020. We’ve been closely monitoring state and local guidelines and regulations as it relates to youth sports. As of today, we are not permitted to play games. Therefore, we’d like to offer a modified Fall Ball season to our LCYO families. Here’s what that will look like:
About eight Sundays starting September 13
Teams will be formed based on friend requests and school affiliation (no more than 14 players per team)
Coaches will lead a 1.5-2-hour practice with drills, skill-development, situation play and inter-team scrimmaging
Locations will be fields in N. County
Registration is $40 to cover the cost of a t-shirt and our standard insurance. If things change and an opportunity to play games is allowed, at that time each team can assess their interest and the costs associated (i.e., umpire fees).
Coaches are needed for each team - at least two per team. Coaches, please register if you’re interested in being a coach and start recruiting your team. Please ask your families to list your name in the friend requests. Your division director will also support you in forming your team. It’s about fun, health and friendship! We want families who are already spending time together to stay together - in a healthy, outdoor setting.
We want to get the kids back on the field, learning new skills, staying physically and mentally healthy… and having FUN! The sooner you register, the better, so we can start forming teams and getting field times reserved.
Please note: We encourage you to register your child and yourself as a coach, if interested, but these are uncertain times and things can change at any moment. If nothing changes before August 31, we will proceed with the modified fall ball session with weekly practices. If anything changes before August 31 that affects our ability to have the fall ball session, we’ll be happy to refund your registration fee. If the season opens up and games are allowed, there may be additional fees for players interested.
For Softball, competitive and double header teams are not forming at this time due to unknown.
How we are addressing COVID-19
Coaches will wear masks when within six feet of a player
Players need to wear masks upon arrival and departure, but it is not required during practice
Hand sanitizer will be available and coaches will encourage social distancing between the kids when reasonable
Parents can stay to watch, but please wear a mask and social distance per county guidelines
